ST HELENS (PARK ROAD) GREYHOUND STADIUM

The Lancashire town of St Helens has had two greyhound tracks in the past, the earliest being on Park Road. The track first opened its gates on 5th November 1932. The track had a circumference of 410 yards and ran sprint races over 275 yards, standard races over 493 yards and distance races over 680 yards.

The track closed its gates for the final time in 1993 and the town was without a track for a year until the stadium on Houghton Road was opened.
